As we pointed out in our last blog, some roofing contractors try to take advantage of property owners by telling them their roofs need certain treatments. The fact is, property owners aren’t roofing specialists, and they shouldn’t have to be! Roofing contractors should always be transparent and keep the customer’s best interests in mind. At Tim Leeper Roofing, we work hard every day to do just that.

In today’s blog, we want to debunk a lie you may have heard about your roof. Does the following sound familiar?

“Your shingles don’t have a guarantee.”

  • This is never true. All shingles come with some sort of lifetime guarantee. The length of the guarantee depends on the type of shingle, and they generally are 25-year, 30-year, 40-year, or lifetime. The guarantee is designed to outlast the shingle. For instance, a shingle that’s guaranteed for 30 years will only last 25 years, and that’s if it was cared for well. This means your shingles should be guaranteed no matter what. If a contractor tells you differently, find a new one.

Your roof allows the rest of your building, be it a home or an office, to stay dry and strong. At Tim Leeper Roofing, we understand the importance of your roof, and we know that you depend on it every day. We consider it a privilege to keep the businesses and homes of Nashville dry, and that is why we put so much emphasis on you, the customer. When you work with us, your interests will always be put first. Contact us for residential and commercial roofing from a roofer unlike any other!
